Daniel Quinn (born 1935 in Omaha, Nebraska) is a United States writer.
Quinn received an extensive education at iii different universities: Saint Louis University, University of Vienna, Austria, and Loyola University. He abandoned the career as the publisher within 1975 to turn into a mercenary writer. Quinn is better known for his book Ishmael, which won the Turner Tomorrow Fellowship Award in 1991. This fellowship was established to encourage authors to search "creative and positive solutions to global problems." Ishmael is the number one of the trilogy including The Story of B and My Ishmael.
